ABOUT
Emma Appleton is a Product and Furniture Designer from London.
Her designs are rooted in simple drawings or models, the act of making, prototyping and testing often a key part of her process.
she is motivated like many in her generation by the climate emergency and sustainability always has a thread through her work, often in her material choices and their easy end of life separation for recycling.
Emma has a background in art, particularly 3D and sculpture, and from 2018 -2024 Emma worked part-time for a sculptor as a casting and mould-making assistant in his bronze foundry in Kew, where she also made her own bronze pieces including sculptures and jewellery. She is also a printmaker, and had one of her etchings exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2025.
She has a BA (hons) 1st class in Product and Furniture Design and is currently studying for an MA, also in Product and Furniture Design, both at Kingston University. For her MA final show, she is exhibiting 3 lights at the London Design Festival.
